Update

I just talked with the members of the band i will be in and found out that our first show should be with in a month and a half and then we will branch out from there. I am currently writing lyrics for a new song and working on getting it recorded. This plan can easily fail, but every little chance i get to make money I'm going to try it. The band is slowly becoming complete and right now we are still currently organizing the set up. I am also planning on spending a small portion of my graduation money to continue the upgrade project on my car. There are so many different things that can be done to my car and it is also not very cheap at all. I was looking at turbo kits and other upgrade parts and they easily reach $2000 which becomes expensive fast, especially with the labor. While all of this is going on im also going to try and find sponsors so that the parts become significantly cheaper, and i can then also get involved with the racing scene. I really want to take this adventure in California after going to kirkwood for two years to learn about law enforcement and auto mechanics, which will help on the labor side of things. I may also further my education at ITT Tech. or UTI for auto mechanics and more in criminal justice.

How to get money and future plans

Ive been brainstorming some ideas to get me some money, so i can actually afford the things i need to buy to start my racing career. One of the things i came up with was create a Metal band with my friends, which were are currently organizing. I would be the "Screamer" in the band and were going to have two guitarists a bassist and a drummer. We all have connections to one of the few local metal bands and were going to combine our powers to get gigs lined up. It is going to take a few weeks to get completely organized and get practice going before we will make anything out of it, but once it gets rolling we all will have a decent second income. I am also considering donating plasma, which would give forty dollars a week which could help me save my actual paycheck. I will be starting school at Kirkwood next year and will be attending school there for two years, and then hopefully moving to San Diego California to become a cop. Once i become a cop i will be able to make a very good amount of money which can spark my racing career even more, especially with the training. My plan is very general and somewhat depended right now on how successful our band will be and/or if i can get a decent income from a job. I currently work at Target on Blairs Ferry road and i was getting plenty of hours, but they dropped me down to 13 hours a week, which really affects my ability to make money majorly.Im just going to keep trying my best to get the money i will need for my dream, and i will have to be patient, but when it all works out in the end i will be happy.

Rally Racing

There is another type of racing that i am really interested in, and have been for a while. It is called Rally racing, which is basically a time trial on a longer distance track. You drive normally an all-wheel-drive car that is tuned up to go around sharper turns, up and down hills, and to handle low traction conditions. Even though this type of racing is based on single car time trials, it is very competative, because it is based completly on your driving ability. You compete with many other vehicles and the way you win is by getting the best time. When you are up to drive, you will have a guide person in the passenger seat that tells you what will coming up on the track and will give you a number that describes the pace at which you should be going. Rallies take place in a variety of special stages, that are mainly based on all different types of terrain. Rally racing takes place all over the world, even though it is more based in Asia and Europe. I think i would enjoy rally racing, because you wouldn't have to deal with other racers gettin in your way so anything bad that happens is all on yourself. Rallies aren't nearly as well known as drifting, pro-circuits, or drag racing, which adds a little more pride in being involved in it. I also like the fact that the car i currently own is a well known rally car when upgraded to its other model. The cars in this type of racing aren't completely based on speed they have to be able to handle any type of road conditions. The main cars that are used are either Group N or Group A cars. There is also a Targa Racing Rally, which takes place on a tarmac track and use more street based cars. Targa rally takes place on the Island of Sicily and spread throughout canada and even parts of the U.S.

types of racing

There are two main types of racing that i would love to be a part of the first type is called circuit racing. In circuit racing you take a car out of a certain class and compete with 6 or more cars in the same class. The classes are based on the performance, in general, of that car and the better the performance of the car the more extreme the races are. There are many types of tracks that circuit races take place on and these races are mainly held all over europe. I think that this type of racing would be amazing because it would give you a huge adrenaline rush, which is awesome. I also like the fact that you get to travel all over the world to be involved in a huge race.
The other type of racing that i would love to be involved in is Drifting, because it is probably the most difficult racing type out there. You basically get to take your favorite car and completely upgrade to go 100+ mph and slide/drift your car around a race track that consist of very sharp turns. The most well known drifting race series is Formula D, which is held all throughout the united states and even in parts of Japan. The japanese invented this style of racing quite a while back, because they basically got bored with regular street racing. It became so popular that know there are even movies and tv shows based on this type of race. This type of racing has appealed to me ever since i found out about it, because you can take your favorite car and race legally.
Being able to do at least one of these types of races in my lifetime would be the most amazing thing i could think of. I would be able to wake up each morning and tell myself "I get to go as fast as i want today, and the only thing i have to worry about is safety. The kicker would be that i would get to drive my dream car, 1996 Toyota Supra twin turbo, every day until i get old.

true dream

Ive always wanted to be a professional racer, and i only have one problem and it is money. When choosing careers i always thought i would be able to just do what ive always wanted but if you dont have the money to get started is it still possible, i dont think it is. Another issue that has also come up was the fact that in cedar rapids racing in general isnt very popular, which makes this even more difficult to do. Some people may think that the skill of racing takes years to learn, which is only partially true, because with in my first year of driving i developed a huge amount of skill that could easily push me through a career as long as i keep learning new and useful things on the track. I have also realized that you have to be noticed in the racing world to get a sponsor that can help you with parts and everything, but without the start-up money you cant even get the chance to prove yourself. With this issue in mind i decided to get the start up money i need is to become a police officer, because it would be an exciting career and would also allow me to get out of cedar rapids through a transfer. I have also always wanted to try to help my city. Learning the police maneuvers could add a new edge to my racing style that could either make it more risky or allow me to have more control. Being in the field of law enforcement would provide a stable job that pays well. i also like to be different with in my family, because my family has had a wide range of careers but not one has ever become a cop, which could use a changing. the requirements of becoming a police officer are mental strength, physical strength, and good work ethic and i believe i meet this criteria. If there is such a thing i think it would be amazing if i could be a pursuit specialist, which would allow me to keep my physical strength up and help my driving skills by being in hot pursuits. car and foot chases are probably the most exciting parts of law enforcement. This would also give me a huge boost in my racing skills, which could help not only my track racing skills but also drifting. Ive always wanted to actually race on a major track circuit and drift. Even when i was a little kid all Ive wanted to do is to race cars and as soon as i got my license i was the happiest person ever. Over the past two years that Ive driven i continuously test myself in my driving ability. here are some of the thing Ive done, i have done a J-turn(when you turn the wheel really fast while going backwards at a high speed and doing a 180* turn and then putting the car in first to drive off) ,and also tested how well i can control a car going speeds of over 100mph. The first time i knew i could be a sucessful racer was when i went 120mph and had complete control over my car.

decisions

i havent always wanted to become a cop, my actual dream was to be a professional race car driver, either in drifting or in circuit events, but because i never had the start up i needed, which means money, i decided to go with my second choice another exciting career. i have wanted to become a cop for a very long time the main reasons are because even though the job can be boring at some times it is also 1 of the most exciting careers out there. I want a job where theres always something going on, because i dont want to be bored doing work, because then i wouldnt ever be sucessful

video

i watched this video on youtube and it explains the real basics of what the whole hiring process is and how it works. It will help me a little bit when i graduate this year. the process isnt very difficult 2 figure out but it isnt going 2 b a cake walk you take classes about firearms first aid search and rescue missions you also get all of the physical training necessary to be a successful cop. I really cant wait til i cango through this process and actually become a cop.

education

To become a police officer i will have 2 complete at least 2 years of college, and my plans r 2 go 2 kirkwood and get all of my gen. eds. done. One of the requirements of becoming a police officer in cedar rapids is being 21. So when i complete my 2 years i will have a year off, and by that time i hope to become a security guard where i currently work, at Target. I am currently investigating what i have 2 do 2 become a security guard and all i really need 2 do is wait until im 18, which will b in june, and there has to b a position opened up. This will give the experience and a reliable job until i actually am able 2 become a cop. The only other type of education i need is to complete the police academy training.

Research

I found out that i would have to be 21 in Cedar Rapids in order to become a police officer, so i plan on taking 2 years of collegeat Kirkwood for law enforcement, while going to school i plan on getting a promotion to a security position at target which is where i currently work. I also found out there is no way i can be garunteed a job as soon as i become 21. There is also a very high chance that a new police officer can be corrupted and can become a "Dirty Cop", which is increasing in probability. There are many mental disorders that can also occur while being on the job, such as depression, anxiety, ect... There is also the possibility of getting shot, but that all really depends on where im a cop at. i plan on starting in cedar rapids and hopefully branching out to a small town in California, possibly san diego. Im really not to worried about it, since if i do die at least it will be for the betterment of society.

Meeting

I went to that meeting for people interested in becoming a cop and i really like the way they have it set up. Its actually a continuous thing that happens every 2 weeks and its completely free. You basically start getting experience to become a police officer by doing traffic directing and you get 2 park cars, be security at like the 4th of july events, all kinds of stuff. I will also be able to do some fun things to help train me, for example, going to the shooting range to practice firing pistols, we also get to do obstacle courses with the actual police cars, which is gonna be really fun. Overall its just a good thing to do if your interested in being a cop. The next meeting is april 17 at 6:00pm every who is interested can show up

Investigation

I've been looking at some local events that could give me a little more information on becoming a police officer. This Saturday there is actually a meeting at the police station for 15-20 year old that are interested in becoming a police officer. It should be a lot of fun its supposed to have a lot of information and will easily start my path to becoming a police officer. Hopefully if things go right i can get my head in the door and start my career over the summer.

My Plan

When I was growing up i was always planning on becoming a cop, becuase it was just the career that appealed to me the most. I really like the idea of keeping the streets clean from criminals and the action packed days that could arrive every now and then. I have many influences and a few of those are, seeing the articles about cops and how good of a job they are doing, the pride of being able to help your community, and also being able to spread the word to younger people about how they can help their community. These are the things that truly inspired me.
